Data Sheet Solutions is a family owned business started in 2017 by Heather and Guy Thomas.
Back in 2017, Heather, an experienced safety professional, grew frustrated after taking meetings with the major SDS management companies while looking for a solution for easy HazCom compliance for a large casino. She wanted a simple solution she could deploy on wall-mounted tablets throughout the casino, something the legacy management companies were just not setup to do.
Heather brought that problem to her husband, Guy, a United States Air Force veteran who built his first website when you still had to dial in to AOL. Guy knew that if he could build a solution that was easy to use and custom tailored for the task, it could stand apart from the usual software employees have the displeasure of using at work.
After six months of analyzing the problem, and Heather's use case, the first prototype of Data Sheet Solutions was born. Guy and Heather took their new idea to the 2018 New Orleans ASSP Safety Exposition to show it to the world. There, they gained their first paying customers and their first real feedback from safety professionals in a wide variety of industries.
They took that feedback and refined the tools. They also learned that customer service and a quick response to a customer question were nearly as valuable as the software itself. With that combination of simple-to-use software and world-class small-business customer service, Data Sheet Solutions has grown to support more than 750 customers throughout the United States.
Even with that growth, Guy still meets with HR and safety professionals every week to show them what Data Sheet Solutions has built and, more importantly, to hear about the unique circumstances and use-cases they encounter.
